About the Coaching
Shawn Light, PGA Member & Movement Specialist
I help golfers move better as humans so they can move better as athletes.
As a PGA Member and movement specialist, my coaching combines golf instruction, golf performance training, and movement-based coaching to help golfers in Las Vegas NV improve their swing and play more consistent golf.
Instead of only focusing on swing positions, my approach looks at how the body produces movement during the golf swing. Many common swing problems - like poor contact, getting stuck in the downswing, early extension, or inconsistent ball striking - often come from limitations in mobility, stability, coordination, or sequencing.
When the body moves more efficiently, the golf swing becomes easier to repeat, more powerful, and more consistent.
My coaching blends golf swing instruction with movement training so golfers can develop both their swing mechanics and the physical ability that supports a better golf swing.
What We Work On
Our coaching focuses on the key elements that influence golf swing performance and ball striking.
• Golf swing timing and pressure shift drills to improve sequencing and consistent contact
• Sequencing the golf swing from the ground up, using ground force concepts to generate efficient rotation and power
• Rotational conditioning and coordination training to improve athletic movement and power in the golf swing
• Rope Flow training for golfers to develop rhythm, sequencing, and rotational awareness
• Golf swing drills using exercise equipment to improve body activation, swing feels, and movement patterns
• Mobility and stability training for golfers to help the body move into better swing positions naturally
These training methods help golfers improve golf swing mechanics, consistency, and overall golf performance.
Coaching Philosophy
Most golfers try to fix their golf swing by focusing only on positions or technical changes. My approach is different.
Many golf swing issues are influenced by how the body moves during the swing. Limitations in mobility, stability, coordination, or rotational control can force the body into compensations that show up as swing flaws.
When golfers improve their mobility, stability, coordination, and sequencing, their swing mechanics often improve naturally because the body can finally support the movement it’s trying to create.
This approach helps golfers build a more athletic, efficient, and repeatable golf swing.
